In some cases the car's relay sockets will stick, so how can this be avoided? Let's find out together.
1. The pull-in voltage is unstable
The type of relay commonly used in the main circuit of an electric vehicle is a normally open contact. Closing the circuit requires powering the relay coil to overcome the tension of the contact spring.
2. Large load breaking
When the circuit is working at high power, the sudden disconnection of the relay is the most severe test for the relay. Only when the distance between the moving and static contacts is far enough and the arc resistance is large enough, the loop current will drop and then go out to achieve a true disconnected state. In the process of arc burning, the contact surface is destroyed, and the metal is in a state close to melting.
3. The load current is too large
In some types of relays, in order to improve the breaking capacity of large currents, the moving and static contact systems are designed as repulsive contacts. Under normal working conditions, the current is relatively small. Although there is a repulsive force, it is too weak compared with the pulling force and cannot play a big role. When a short-circuit current occurs in the circuit, the larger current makes the repulsion between the contacts assist the mechanical mechanism to achieve rapid disconnection.
